Tower construction
The height of the tower located about 50m from the peak of Orlica (1084 m above sea level) is 25.5m, while the height of the viewing platform is 17.7m. It is mainly a wooden structure with a stone base for which native slate was used. The lower, stone part of the tower serves as a shelter for hikers. There are benches with tables, parking spaces for bicycles, as well as a sheltered room that will protect you from wind, rain or snow. The tower has three resting platforms.
From the last, main viewing platform, there is a beautiful view of the Orlice, Bystrzyckie, Stołowe, Sowie, Bardzkie Mountains, the Śnieżnika Massif and many others. With very good weather conditions, tourists have a chance to admire the Giant Mountains, and Sněžka, which is more than 60 kilometers away in a straight line.

Access and location to the tower
The observation tower on Orlica is located on the Polish side of the peak, about 50 meters from the actual top of the mountain, at the border strip. You can get to the tower by already existing hiking trails. One, the green trail from the Rübartsch Stone located in the western part of Zieleniec, or the other, the red trail running partly on the Czech side and passing through the Serlich peaks (1027m above sea level) and (Zielony Garb 1026m above sea level). In the latter case of the red route, you can also use one of the two cable cars (Gryglówka and Nartorama), which are available for tourist traffic in the spring and autumn period.Right next to the tower are the ruins of a former hostel and a wooden tower built by Heinrich Rübartsch in the 19th century.
The location of the tower makes it accessible to every tourist, regardless of their level of mountain tourism. You can also get to the top by bike, both from the Polish and Czech sides. It is worth adding that right next to the tower begins one of the Dusznice loops single tracks, which we can go down to the center of Dusznik-Zdroj about which we wrote more HERE. In winter, cross-country ski lovers can reach here by the routes from the Rubartsch Stone and continue towards Masaryková Chat. The recommended place to leave the car is the Parking located in front of the Hotel Zieleniec from which the access to the glass takes no more than 5 minutes.
